My
home base is in Illinois. Chris Dorris is my trainer here. Anyone
that follows thoroughbred racing knows that Chris is a real "rising
star" on the local scene. He is currently listed as #2 in the
trainer standings at Hawthorne as of 03/09/10. One thing that I really like is his percent "in
the money" stats. Even though almost all trainers have hot and cold
spells, Chris's year end numbers always show well
over 50% for the top three positions. That means a lot to the owner.
He's an easy guy to talk to, and he puts the horses in at the levels
where they belong. If you're interested in talking with him about
his rates and training philosophy, walk in or call the racing office
at either Hawthorne or Arlington Racetracks to contact him.
I also occasionally ship some of my own horses out east to race in
Randy Allen's barn. I have claimed several horses through Randy, and
all have made me money. Randy carefully works together with me to help me
choose horses that will give me the best chance to make a profit.
Randy is a very nice guy that is concerned for the safety and well
being of the horses in his stable. Randy's home base is Philadelphia
Park. There are about ten racetracks within two hours of his home base,
so there are tons of opportunity out east. Most of the tracks have
slots so the purses are very generous!!
